What is the relationship of Thomas Lister to Tim Marshall, the author of a 1995 book of the same name, published by Athena Books, who both share the same educational background? Looks like the same person. Why the name change? How different are the books?

Thanks for the inquiry. Yes, this is indeed the same person. The “M” in Thomas M. Lister stands for Marshall, his middle name. I’m not exactly why this publisher changed his name. The 1995 book was a previous edition to the newly published second edition. The two books are very different. The newest edition has undergone some extensive revision and re-organization along with updates to facts and information. We highly recommend this title if the subject matter is appealing to you.
