Reviews

Up until now, I haven’t been one to enjoy sitting and reading poetry all that much. But the way Jeff uses words to create an inner stirring of the soul is truly awe inspiring. I became a fan when reading his poems online and countless times they would stir emotions in me and even bring a tear to my eye.

In these poems you’ll find inspiration to overcome obstacles, encouragement to stay on a spiritual path and reminders that we can always return to the path of wisdom that was there all along. And watch for the surprising lines about vapor rub and banana bread – not in the same poem 🙂

83 pages of wonderfulness! Several beautiful pieces of artwork in color throughout the book too!

This a beautiful book of love and inspiration. Jeff truly writes from his heart and from inspiration. His beautiful spirit shines through the words on these pages. Often I pick it up and just let it fall open to what I need, I am always better for the experience. Anne, Dallas

The Heart That Never Breaks is a beautiful collection of Spiritual poetry that touches my Soul! Jeffery Vionito’s first book of poetry captures the Divine that is within all of us and in nature. Randomly reading a poem and reflecting on the picture it conjures is pure joy. So much to be shared and thankful my art gets to mingle among Jeffery’s heart opening words.

‘SOARING ON WINGS OF WORD’ BY TERRY MICHELSEN

Soar through the wonderful poetry of Terry Michelsen

ImagePublisher: Ammons Communications
Publication Date: 6/24/2013
ISBN-13(e-book): 9780989569439
Price: $2.99

Terry Michelsen’s ‘Soaring on Wings of Word’ is a collection of six previously self-published chapbooks celebrating the departure from traditional form to free verse, touching on themes of nature, human relationships, the diversity of morality, and the treachery of politics. Received with a great deal of positive reviews, Michelsen’s work inspires readers to explore their own connections with their own human spirit.

Book Reviews:

“Terry Michelsen’s debut poetry collection is a wonderful journey through waters both sacred and political.  Blending traditional poetic forms and free verse, her collection guides the reader into a realm where old gods and new worlds collide to create a testament for modern absolution.  Simply put, Michelsen’s poetry is gold.”

-Suzanne Raether

Western Carolina University Alumnus

Author of Judaculla

“Michelsen apprehends the divine with craft, innovation, and feeling.  An ambitious new work.”

– Mary Adams

Western Carolina University English Professor

Author of Commandment

“Terry Michelsen knows that to write a poem, she must take her gloves off “…because bare hands do a better job” of caressing, nurturing, and digging into the reality of the world  she loves, whether dog, tendril, sunlight, or dreamtime.  She brings a lively wit, as well as a keen attentiveness to every encounter.  Black beans and rice, yes, she will invite you to sit down and share a bowl and a joke.  She also knows about bloodmeal and raven mocker, and she knows how to enter the world of nature, where webs of sunlight are strung through the trees and animal breath rides on the wind.  Her sonnets “from both sides of the rainbow” are in themselves worth the journey into this book.  Light and shadow live here, and she brings her reader closer to both.”

— Kathryn Stripling Byer

North Carolina Poet Laureate

“I’m re-reading Terry’s book, “Soaring on Wings of Word.” Her poetry is like warm honey poured over the mind buds.  It is an excellent gift that can be opened many times. Thanks, Terry for sharing your heart.”

— Barbara Woodall

Author of It’s Not My Mountain Anymore

“It is a really fine book of poetry. You’ll be happy to have it in your collection.”
