New Age/Spirituality: “Restoring Oneness: The Butterfly Trilogy” by Petrus

“An inspirational discourse that speaks about man’s need
for a spiritual metamorphosis…”

Image

“Written in the voice of a Guru, Petrus aims at guiding the reader through the spiritual process to ultimately achieve inner peace and wisdom, thus emerging a new being in total harmony and unity with God and the Universe.”

– Anna Suanco, Swan Dancer Book Reviews

Until now we’ve held ourselves apart from the universe and lived in loneliness and fear. But the key to universal life is given back to us now, and each one of us is free to choose afresh. This inspirational book will serve as a guide to anyone seeking a clearer sense of personal choice as one age ends and a new one begins.
“Restoring Oneness” combines the influential spiritual volumes of “The Butterfly Trilogy” by Petrus. The first volume, “Ecstasy in Unity,” heralds the wondrous metamorphosis coming now to Earth, as we regain the realization that all things at their centre are One. Just as caterpillars become butterflies, those who crawl in separation can reconstitute themselves to fly in unity.  The second volume, “Sex in God,” discovers that sexuality is not opposed but rather native to divinity, and that our sexual desire is integral to universal development. The third volume, “Azimuth for New Earth,” further articulates personal and planetary transmutation, and tells how we will make the journey to a New Earth.

Petrus writes about humanity’s present passage from fear to love through the realization of God within ourselves. Born in Canada in 1958, he began a sustained practice of meditation at the age of 18. He pursued his education in the social sciences and a career in international and organizational development. The focus of his efforts shifted dramatically in 2001, when he first encountered sacred geometry, and began building and sleeping in a series of space-frames using fractal symmetry and the golden ratio (1.618…). These devices concentrate the life force and enable cosmic resonance. With their aid, the author shifted his awareness from separation to unity, and began to think and communicate from his higher self. Petrus composed the “Butterfly Trilogy” and his “Discourses” to share a new perspective on our experience as a journey from self-denial to self-realization.

Reader Praise for ‘Eat’ by Dr. Linda R. Harper

For over one hundred years, our culture has promoted dieting—with the goal of losing weight—as the acceptable way to eat. With this aim of weight loss, a diet determines your eating choices and in turn creates a thought system that prevents you from trusting your natural ability to make the right choices about eating. Our inner wisdom, or best self, quietly speaks to us through intuition, gut feelings, physical cravings and thoughts about the present moment, whereas beliefs focused on specific outcomes, such as weight loss-focused dieting, push their way to the forefront of our minds and block our ability to enjoy the present.

Image

Wow! Everyone who has ever had a difficult relationship with food needs to read Eat, Linda R. Harper’s look at the natural relationship between food and our bodies…Harper’s Eat will walk you through how to return to best self eating.

-Jaime Shine

The purpose of this book is to remove the barriers preventing you from accessing and trusting your own best self in choosing and creating each eating experience. Eat provides the tools you need to remove the thoughts that are obstructing your inner wisdom and replace those thoughts with ones that will guide you back to everyday eating choices that stem from your best self. Linda R. Harper’s simple five-step guide will help you access your best self and discover your natural and healthy relationship with food, leaving the rules of dieting behind.

‘One Christian’s Perspective of Man’s Dilemma God’s Solution’ by Steve Lampman

People today consider many different things as constituting man’s dilemma—health problems, unemployment, poverty, crime, war, and so on. Each, of course, is a problem found in every society, excluding none. One could say man’s dilemma is universal.  However, each of the things listed above is actually the result of man’s dilemma, and not the cause. The cause is found in man’s depravity. In that depravity, every un-regenerated human being sets his own standard for conducting his life. Man has rejected the absolute standard of his creator, and as a result is alienated not only from God, but from his fellow man. Man has no solution for this and therein lies the dilemma. God, on the other hand, has the solution; it is found in His provision, the Lord Jesus Christ.  In the pages of this work the author considers man’s dilemma God’s solution from eleven different perspectives. Each chapter is a study in itself but fits nicely as one completed work.

One Christian's_Front Cover

Steve Lampman became a Christian on November 17, 1961 when as a young marine on liberty he came upon a street meeting held by Open Air Campaigners for Christ in the city of Los Angeles, California. For the remaining three years of his enlistment after coming to faith, Steve immersed himself in various books and studies concerning his relationship with Christ. During those three years, he worshipped in Los Angeles and was discipled by three families who were members of Granada Heights Friends Church and nurtured his faith. It was the foundation gained in those years that sustained him through several tumultuous years during which he walked away from a faithful walk with the Lord and lived as a prodigal son.

Appalachian Author Janie Mae McKinley’s “The Legacy of Bear Mountain”

Image

In ‘The Legacy of Bear Mountain: Stories of Old Mountain Values That Enrich Our Lives Today,’ Janie Mae recalls mountain life with her grandparents during the time her mother and father were involved in the war efforts of World War II. During those formative years, she absorbed her grandparents’ old-fashioned values and lifestyle. Although their secluded 1895 farmhouse lacked modern conveniences until 1975, they enjoyed a rich life of hard work, honesty, humor, gratitude, and faith. With amazing detail, Janie Mae, whose ancestors came to Bear Mountain in the 1700s, vividly recalls both humorous and scary stories, along with grandfather’s hard work on the railroad and her grandmother’s devout faith in God.

In honor of the reader’s own memories, a page at the end of each chapter is designed for individuals, families, small groups, or church classes to record and share their own family’s legacy.

A first-generation college graduate, Janie Mae Jones McKinley holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, NC, and a M.A.Ed. in Community Agency Counseling from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC. Having returned to her childhood roots, she lives on Bear Mountain with her husband, Larry. Because of having no heirs, she donated many of her grandparents’ antiques to the Mountain Heritage Center Museum on the Western Carolina University campus. These treasured artifacts will be used to teach future generations about mountain farm life before modern conveniences.

REVIEWS of THE LEGACY OF BEAR MOUNTAIN:

McKinley does a wonderful job of drawing her reader in and immersing them in mountain life…An excellent book, and an absolute read for fans of creative non-fiction. McKinley should be very proud of her work and her heritage, I hope to see more work from her in the future.
             – J. P. Dash

This is an incredibly detailed book; the author does an amazing job of showing us what her experiences on Bear Mountain were like…a very sentimental book, and the reader’s are allowed to go on that journey of remembering with the author. I believe that anyone who grew up in an area like that, or with family like that, would appreciate this book…I was touched by some of the stories in this book, and am glad to have had the chance to read it.

Cianna Reider

Book Review: MEMOIR – Frederick J. George’s “Switched at Birth: My Life in Someone Else’s World”

After inexplicably being placed in the wrong bassinet at the city hospital where I was born, I grew up with a nagging feeling of somehow not belonging, and a father who always suspected I was not his. I lived another’s life and he mine, our paths amazingly crossing throughout the years, until 57 years later I discovered the truth. This is the story of my life in someone else’s world, my quest for answers, and how I’ve come to terms with the hand which fate has dealt me.

– Fred George, Author

Image

This is a story about two boys who, at birth, were inexplicably switched, a switch that would dramatically change the author’s life in every aspect—religion, ethnicity, economics, and culture. Time and time again, the two boys’ paths cross with one another’s before ultimately discovering, decades later, that they aren’t who they spent their whole lives believing they were. At 57, Fred George sees his birth family for the first time, recognizing in them his own mannerisms and traits. George’s retelling of his switch at birth is not so much an account of the switch itself, but rather the story of his life from birth to present with the George family. The story is interesting and insightful, complete with family photos that provide readers with an inside view of the culture and of the times of George’s life.

A compelling biography, interlaced with humor, of a man switched at birth who does not learn his true identity until 57 years after the midwife placed him in the wrong bassinet. Switched At Birth is an easy read that is hard to forget.
          – Emory Daniels, Book Review Editor

This book is a diamond in the rough… the stories are often comical, sometimes heartbreaking, and always enjoyable.
-Shaley Melchoir, For Immediate Release Reviews

Full of doubts, ironic coincidences, experiences, growth, the feeling of not belonging and being different, but most importantly [the author]shows us the essence of life itself…The idea of this book is fantastic and so is the approach…The author has impressive insights and thoughts as well as a definite writing voice…I highly recommend [it].
– Elisa Hidalgo

It is unimaginable to think that the life you have lived was not the one you were meant to have. Despite this tragic event, the author has a very uplifting spirit and positive outlook on life. This book is a great read for anyone.

Book Review: Award Winning “Man’s Greatest Fear: The Final Phase of Human Evolution” by Dr. Thomas M. Lister, Ed.D.

Image

Heralded as thought-provoking, insightful, and highly recommended for all audiences by all readers, Lister’s work is timely in regards to both global politics and environmental issues. It has been said that anyone interested in the human condition or the fate of mankind should read this book.

Here’s what the most recent reviewer has said of Man’s Greatest Fear:

Overall, I feel this was a very insightful and interesting read. There were some points that I hadn’t thought of before that taught me a great deal. I believe this is a great reading choice for both men and women. . . Each point made was concise, backed up by evidence and research, and very well expressed. I would recommend this book to anyone who is either interested in gender roles, male thought patterns and actions, or the human condition. This is not light reading, and for that, it was a refreshing break from mundane everyday fiction novels and I enjoyed it immensely.
– Megan S.

Sandra Sanchez, from the US Review of Books, has said that “if you read for enlightenment and care about the future of human civilization, this book is a very important part of your necessary study of history. RECOMMENDED.” She goes on to conclude that “our only hope of correcting the destruction, violence and hatred of several millennia is in understanding the psychological peregrinations that have led to it and, through that understanding, find the cure for the ills of human civilization.”

“He speaks with authority on everything from early man’s biological imperative to control and conquer his environment to modern man’s global territorial battles, our world wars,” recalls Sheila Trask of ForeWord Reviews. “This second edition of Man’s Greatest Fear brings the examples up-to-date, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as man’s apparent war against the environment.” Lister explains his 28-point plan “aimed at changing the political landscape” of our society. “Well-documented, thorough, and provocative, Man’s Greatest Fear suggests that we look carefully at the way our society treats men and women. Much like an individual might uncover repressed memories on the psychologist’s couch, society can become aware of its essential conflicts. By making the subconscious conscious, on a global scale, Lister suggests we can heal the world.”
